Activities

Dahab is primarily a wonderful place to scuba diving or snorkeling. You think you are literally in a big sea aquarium.

From the beach (at The Lighthouse), you can walk into the sea and immediately see the colorful coral. Also, you can go by boat to other reefs or take a taxi or camel to The Blue Hole, which a world famous site for divers.

But apart from snorkeling and diving, Dahab has so much more to offer.
Dahab is located on the outskirts of the Sinai desert: a true experience to visit.

There are camel safaris organized, on your "own" camel you enter the desert, spending the night by a crackling campfire, have dinner with beduins and sleep under a starry sky.

If you are not really in to riding a camel, you can also rent a jeep to drive into the desert. There are plenty of trips available. You can go to the White Canyon, The Coloured Canyon, The Zigzag Canyon, an oasis tours, a sand dune, all in all, many possibilities!

An absolute must however is visiting/climbing the "Moses Mountain". It requires the necessary physical condition, because it is indeed a climb! Although during our climb we encountered a lot of old nuns climbing the mountan on their plastic shoes....

You will be picked up by bus at around 23.00 hours and drive directly to Mount Sinai. From there the climb will start around 01.00 o'clock. The sun will rise at around half past four which is an awesome view.

Spend a day (or two) at the Three Pools for snorkeling or diving or at Ras Abou Ghaloum, a beautiful national park at the sea side, where you can swim, snorkel and drink tea with the friendly beduins. There is also the possibility to spend the night in a bedoeïnentent or just ..... outside underneath the billions of stars.

A ride on horseback or quad is also a possibility, and to especially the young ones among us (or young at heart) will be a great experience.
